Food Programs

Daily Universal Food Program

sandwiches

Our school is proud to offer a universal food program for all students. We offer a healthy breakfast every morning starting at 8:30am, as well as nutritious snack and lunch options for any student who would like to access food. Snack and lunch is provided outside of the office at snack and lunch time and is available for everyone. Food at Mouse Mountain School is accessible and stigma-free. We have partnered this year with the grade 12 Foods class from FLESS who help prepare healthy and delicious snack and breakfast options for Mouse students!

Fresh Fruit & Veggie Program

Our school is fortunate to receive biweekly shipments of fresh BC produce and BC dairy products through the Agriculture In the Classroom Program (AITC). This fresh food is offered to all students to try. Due to an increase in the amount of food we are receiving this year, all classes have access to fruit/veggie baskets available in the classroom when we receive shipments. We also send home extra produce to families who could use additional food support.

Hot Lunch Program (PAC fundraiser)

Mouse Mountain Elementary has a very wonderful and active Parent Advisory Committee. Our PAC offers a hot lunch program that is run once a week. The hot lunch menu is provided in our school's weekly newsletter. The school offers assistance for families who would like their child(ren) to have hot lunch but are unable to afford the cost. For more information please contact the school at 250-699-6627
